Peek-a-Boo! The Elephant Who Forgot How Big He Was


A Sweet Story from Thailand —


In a quiet village in Thailand, surrounded by tall sugarcane fields, something adorable—and a little mischievous—happened one peaceful night. A curious baby elephant, driven by the irresistible smell of fresh sugarcane, wandered into the plantation, ready for a secret midnight feast.


For a while, the little elephant happily munched on the sweet stalks, completely unaware that nearby farmers had noticed. When the lights and voices suddenly pointed its way, the baby elephant froze. In its little heart, it knew it had been caught.


Panicking, the elephant did what seemed like the perfect escape plan—it rushed to the nearest “hiding spot” it could find: a thin wooden pole.


With its head tucked behind the pole and its back still completely visible, the elephant genuinely believed it was invisible. It thought, “If I can’t see them, surely they can’t see me either.”


The farmers, instead of being angry, couldn’t help but laugh softly. They watched the little one’s innocent attempt to disappear, realizing this would be a story they’d tell for years.


In the end, they let the baby elephant go, touched by its sweet, childlike mind.


This beautiful moment from Thailand reminds us:

Sometimes we think we can hide, but life always finds a way to see us—with kindness, with laughter, and sometimes, with a story that will never be forgotten.
